Craft beer and rustic food is a way of life at The Coopers Tavern. With our Bier Hall Dinner Series we will showcase both of those concepts with a series of special meals designed around some of our favorite breweries.

Executive Chef Cooper Booth has done the hard work of tasting all the beers we will be pouring, and crafting courses from locally sourced ingredients to enhance and highlight flavor notes in each beer.



First Course
Arugula and marinated beet salad with local oyster mushrooms and seasonal berry vinaigrette
paired with
Frootwood – Cherry Ale, 8% abv
Second Course
Smoked duck, cherry gastrique, sweet potato purée, roasted corn succotash, with tomatoes and okra paired with
Backwoods Bastard – Wee Heavy (bourbon barrel-aged Scotch ale), 11.2% abv
Third Course
Vanilla Pot de Crème, bourbon-macerated seasonal fruit
paired with
Lizard of Koz – Imperial Stout (with vanilla, chocolate, and Michigan blueberries)

The Founders Family, a group of passionate beer enthusiasts, has grown around this simple philosophy: “We don’t brew beer for the masses. The Bier Hall Dinner Series is served exclusively in our upstairs Bier Hall overlooking the Capitol Square. The full bar features 28 tap lines, floor-to-ceiling windows which offer a stunning view of the Capitol, and communal-style seating as found in Europe’s bier halls.
